Panel Enemies of the State: Government Surveillance and Communities of Color
When: Thursday, Oct. 24, 5:30-7 pm Where: Busboys and Poets Details: A lively and wide-ranging panel discussion taking place at Busboys and Poets featuring Jared Ball, Fahd Ahmed, Dhoruba Bin-Wahad, Adwoa Masozi, Bill Means, Seema Sadanandan and other special guests. More info here.

When: Friday, Oct. 25, 4:30-7pm Where: 1600 20th Street NW, Washington, DC Details: Bring your laptops and join EPIC and Public Citizen for a crypto party happy hour, featuring prominent technologists and journalists talking about the benefits of encryption. Set up an encrypted e-mail system, and publish your public key to promote secure communications. Refreshments will be provided.RSVP here.
Rally Against Mass Surveillance
When: Saturday, Oct. 26, 11:30am-3pm Where: Start at Union Station in Columbus Circle, march to Capitol Reflecting Pool Details: Marchers will gather at Union Station at 11:30 a.m. in Columbus Circle. At noon we’ll march to Union Square (on 3rd Street and Madison Dr. NW in front of the Capitol Reflecting Pool) where the rally will take place.
